Mia and Daddy Jam

Mia's love for her daddy is a dream come true and prayer answered. I couldn't pick a better idol for my little girl than her daddy. Now she can jam with him.

Mia's Birthday Party

Mia wanted to have her party at Nana and Poppy's house so that her cousins could be there. Her theme: soccer. Mia's favorite thing to wear is her soccer clothes and socks. Too precious. Isn't she just gorgeous.

Bike Girls

This is Mia's first time on her new birthday bike. Wow, did she just take off on it.

And Brianna was cracking us up. All of a sudden she would stop and give us a thumbs up. We have no idea where she got that.

Apple Pie! (Mia Turns 4...)

On Saturday night, Elise and I were treated to an incredible night out with friends from church. During the course of our conversation, my wife mentioned in passing that she loves apple pie. The next morning at church, I found an apple pie in my office (and, if you must know, an exquisite bottle of wine). Now, if you know my wife at all, you'll know that she was not dropping hints or suggesting anything in her comment to make that happen. Had it been me, however, your suspicion would be warranted. It just turned out that our friend is an apple pie aficionado or sorts.

And, as blessings would have it, yesterday was Mia's 4th Birthday!

So I called Elise and told her to hold off on making anything for our 'non-chocolate loving' child and that I was bringing home a special treat for Mia. The gift from our friends made for a special night around the Deeble table:

The Wizzer

All the girls are now out of diapers and pull-ups. Just when we thought life was going to get easier Bower decides he needs more attention. The laundry room experiment is NOT working. So now we are trying this: THE WIZZER!

The tag reads:

WIZZER
A BETTER BELLY BAND
GOOD FOR YOU
GOOD FOR HIM
GOOD FOR YOUR HOME
We shall see!

Bower's not happy about it all. He doesn't quite know what to do being 'strapped down.' Dan said that's because he's now been stripped from all animal kingdom privilege and has been forced into full domestication. Then I told him that I attached a feminine liner as well (per the instructions). To which Dan winced and quipped, "Make that full emasculation."

The verdict's out. We'll keep you posted. We're hopeful that our sanity might be within reach.

That's My Daughter in the Water

Some pictures from the girl's second swim lesson. Can you guess which one had a smile on their face the entire time. Yep! The youngest, fearless one. She couldn't get enough. Neither could daddy. The instructor had to stop the class and say "My do we have a proud papa here". Dan could not quit taking pictures or grinning from ear to ear.

Mia on the other hand wasn't so sure this time. When I (Elise) asked her what her favorite part about swimming lessons was her answer was "watching". But we are excited we just ordered her prescription goggles for only $30. Woo Hoo. I think that will help tremendously to boost her confidence.

Guinea Family

Mia tucked her Guinea Family in for a little nap. We were given three baby guinea's and a mommy Guinea as a gift from friends. Each girl got a baby and I got a mommy but they ran out and so Dan didn't get a daddy. Mia was very disturbed by not having a daddy and so I had to scour all the Beanie Baby retailers in town and finally found a daddy guinea on the Internet.
Mia adores her family of guineas. The word "Family" hits a deep spot in her little heart. She especially loves that her guinea patches looks the same as the mommy and daddy guinea. Bri and Hadley's guineas are different. Right now the bulk of her affection comes through the guineas. Dan and I daily have to kiss and love on the guineas and we in turn receive tons of love from them.

Naughty Doggies

Mia and Brianna's doggies were naughty and went potty in the house so Mia gated them. Does that give a little insight into what I have been dealing with. Not sure what the Pig did.

Cousin Love

My sister and her girls came down for the weekend to finish our basement bathroom tiling project. Can I tell you how amazingly talented my sister is and selfless. She is a full time working mother and twice now has sacrified a weekend and time with her hubby to come down and work for the "slave driver" (that is what she calls me). We usually get the bulk of our work done after midnight. I however don't have to get up in the wee hours and feed a baby. But who wouldn't mind getting up in the middle of the night to snuggle with this cute munchkin.

Jesus Loves Hadley

Hadley and I (dan) have a little nightly tradition. After a long day of epic battle together, it's one of those things that melts my heart to putty- or, if it was an exceptionally hard day, it reminds me that I do love my children (question for self: why is it that I feel the most love for my daughters when they're asleep? When they're unresponsive and catatonic? I must explore this further. I think it's because the gremlins in their spirit clock out for the day and little angels do the night shift.)

Anyhow, you'll want to turn off the blog music so you can hear my little night angel sing.

Seriously?

Now Brianna has walking pneumonia. What in heaven's name are we going to get next?

But the good news is that we don't have mold. We had the house tested for mold since Hadley's asthma has been so bad since moving into the new house. But we are good.
