Another Higgens Update

So we are dealing with a smart one.  Just ate the fresh apple but stayed away from the cage.  Let's see if a little camo works.  He also doesn't appear to care for the green beans.

Higgens Update

Ok, so right after I posted this I was vacuuming the steps and got to the bottom and there was Higgens sitting on the front porch.  The smart little rodent had eaten all of the apples except the ones behind the trigger plate.  He even sat there while dan walked up to see him.  He then went into his whole.  Well I sweetened the pot with some fresh apples and green beans.  Here little Higgens......

I am starting to commiserate with Bill Murray.

Here little Higgens....

We have a new inhabitant of the nice little cave under our hall closet and front porch.  One of his ancestors probably built this cave.  Our first friend was a nice Oppossum.  Our new little inhabitant is quite large and likes to greet me when I get home from walking in the morning.  I have named him Higgens. He is a nice, big, healthy looking groundhog.  He is quite cute when he is in the back eating acorns.  However, I am not crazy about having him be our greeter to the Deeble house.  Nor does our foundation really want him there.

Grandpa lives out back in the woods but Higgens likes to go between our front porch and the neighbors.  Higgens, this is your eviction notice.  We have a nice new little home waiting for you in a park at least 25 miles away.  Doesn't that sound much more appealing.  You will get a nice one on one car ride with Mr. Dan.  And Mr. Dan would be happy to provide you with some relocation counseling on the way.    It will be quite an adventure.  Please come check it out.

Thanks,

Elise

Our little Hadley

Oh Hadley, you keep us on our toes.  You had the shortest lived stint at gymnastics ever.  When you get older and ask us why you didn't do any activities when you were little we will have to remind you of this.  But fighting with you for 45 minutes each week to put on a leotard which was "too tight" or shorts "too tight" or a swim suit "too tight" was just not worth it.  You had to wear clothes of some sort to participate.  So we will just limit our battles to the non-negotiable school.  Why oh why is it so hard to wear shoes, pants, shorts and heaven forbid socks.  How can you find even the softest of clothes to be "itchy".  Oh so much passion.

And you always surprise us by where we find you asleep.  Lately you have decided to make your hallway floor sleeping a little more comfortable.  Last night you slept all night in the hall.  Dad or I usually move you to your bed but for some reason you moved out there again even after dad put you in bed.
